Custom Rehab Support

CHME’s department of complex rehabilitative equipment and custom seating works with patients who have long-term disabilities and high-level mobility challenges to provide custom solutions for everyone, including our pediatric patients.

CHME has extensive experience working with patients with ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease and many other conditions that present profound challenges to mobility, orthopedics and everyday activities of daily living, both at home and in the community. To help address these challenges, CHME offers ultra-light manual wheelchairs for paraplegics, electric wheelchairs with powered seating for quadriplegics, manual tilt-in-space wheelchairs for patients who totally depend on caregiver assistance, standing frames and many more custom mobility solutions.

CHME’s Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) have certifications on custom seating fabrication methods, such as molding, pouring casts and designing special upholstery components. This customized seating is built and sewn at CHME’s workshop to specs by FDA-approved manufacturers.
